investigation reflection - 60% of your grade.

These last two weeks you have worked on your investigation process. Reflect and rate yourself using the rubric PLUS copy your response to your blog. Post with the subject INVESTIGATION REFLECTION. When you are finished continue with your 3 brainstorming designs.

3-4; I think for this assignment, I deerve a 4 because I explained about the problem, which is trying to teach a sixth grader the design cycle. I also used my time wisely going into different websites and experimenting the things it can do to make my slideshow better. I also explained the graphs, which is the simplicity, effects and fonts for 2 different websites. I also explained how I will give the student, a test to tell if I did a good job and if they learned anything about the design cycle.

0 You did not reach a standard described by any of the descriptors given below.
1–2 (60 / 70)You stated the problem.
You investigated the problem, collecting information from few sources.
You listed some specification points.
3–4 (75 / 85) You described the problem, mentioning its relevance.
You investigated the problem, selecting and analysing information from some acknowledged sources.
You described a test to evaluate the product/solution against the design specification.
5–6 (95 / 100) You explained the problem, discussing its relevance.
You critically investigated the problem, evaluating information from a broad range of appropriate, acknowledged sources.
You described detailed methods for appropriate testing to evaluate the product/solution against the design specification.

Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it. - I am going to make a slideshow, to show a sixth grader how the desing cycle works.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment? -  My requirements are to be able to show a 6th garder the design cycle, in an easy and simple way.
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment? - To help me in the slideshow im making 2-3 slides for each step of the design cycle, so I can make it more informative and easier.
13. How will you "test" your project? - I will give the sixth grader a quiz of 5 questions, asking what they learned and how could I have made it better.

slideshows.

Power point;
- I compared te simplicity in power point to slideshare and I gave it a 7. it is very simple to go into and view the information clearly. It helps understand whatever the power point is about. Its also very easy to start it out. Although, you can only see it from one computer, the computer you made it from, than being able to see it in any other computer.

- For effects, I gave it an 8. It has some effect to choose from, but not enough to make it more creative. There is more in slideshare than there is on here.

- In fonts, I gave it an 8. There is various fonts to choose from, but they all look the same and there is more on slideshare. There is also various colors to choose from. It looks animated.

- The total for power point is a 23. I think its very easy, but it will look very plain and it will be harder to edit at home or in any other computer i have access on.

Slideshare.
- In simplicity i give slideshare a 9. Its very simple to understand and very easy to create. The best thing about it, its that i can go home and still be able to work on it and make changes to the slideshow. It has a lot of creative stuff on it. It will be easy to present it to a 6th grader.

- For effects, i give slideshare a 9. it has all these cool effects on it. It has many ways of showing the information on the slideshow. It can be sideways, up side down or any other way.

- In fonts, i give it a 8. They all look the same, its just the color that changes it. It goes with the background, yet its very simple.

- The total point i give on slide share is a 26. It has a lot of cool things to do and its easy to edit in any computer. Theres a lot of creative things of the websites & the examples it shows you.

DAY 2 - INVESTIGATION REFLECTION.

Today I researched about slideshows and I went to; http://cooltoolsforschools.wikispaces.com/Slideshow+Tools. In that link there was different options and I tried the 'slideshare' link. It took me to; https://www.slideshare.net/signup. Right now I haven't decided which website im going to use to teach the 6th graders about the Design Cycle.

ASSIGNMENT #1 DESIGN FOLDER

Area of Interaction: Community and Service , Approaches to Learning & Human Ingenuity
Significant Concept: Design Cycle can be used to solve problems
Unit Question: How can my learning help my community? How do I make Sound Choices?
INVESTIGATE: (Write in complete sentences) Identify the Problem
1. What is the problem you need to solve? Explain to a 6th grader what the design cycle is all about by creating a presentation. (3d, PPT, movie, game, Poster)
2. How does the Design Cycle apply to the real world? When someone wants to build or make something, they will have to go through this process.
3. How will this project serve my community?
It will help me explain to the 6th graders.
4. How can my learning help my community?
People will learn faster & it will be easier.
5. How do we live in relation to each other?
We use the process everyday.
6. How does this help others?
Easier to explain.
7. What are the requirements for this assignment?
To know how each step is used.
8. What is the Design Cycle?
It has 4 steps; Investigate, Plan, Create, Evaluate.
It REFLECT on your learning.
Day 2
9. Spend one day experimenting with DESIGN CYCLE your presentation. List five things your learned about the Design Cycle:
Day 3
Design Brief
10. Write a short statement of what you are going to make, why you are going to make it, and for whom you are making it.
Formulate a Design Specification
11. What are the requirements for this assignment?
12. What are the limitations you have with this assignment?
13. How will you "test" your presentation?
REFLECT ON YOUR LEARNING
PLAN:
14. Brainstorm ideas. Use the chart below
IB Brainstorming Chart .pdf found in schoology under “materials”& then files
15. What idea did you choose to demonstrate the design cycle and why did you choose it?
16. Does your idea meet all of the requirements?
17. Use the story board paper below to plan your presentation.  Include how many levels you will have, what will be on each level, how will you include teaching skills to young students, and what will your questions be about.
story board.pdf found in schoology under “materials” & then files.
18. Explain how you will use your time to get your project finished in 12 days:
REFLECT on your learning
EVALUATE:
20. How could you improve your presentation?
21. Does your presentation meet all of the requirements?
22. Share your presentation with at least 2-8th, 3-9th, 4-10th+ friends. What did he/she like about your presentation?
23. Reflect on all the steps of the Design Cycle. What did you do well? What do you need to improve?
24. Were you responsible in using the software, Internet, pictures, and computer?
25. How can my learning help my community?
26. What grade do you deserve on this project? (1 - 6)

ATTITUDE:
27. Reflect on your attitude on each step of the Design Cycle. Did you completely answer each step without complaining, being a whiny baby, or saying "it's too hard". Explain your answer:
28. What grade do you deserve on your attitude? (1 - 6)
